02 SEPTEMBER: We have been advised by WCRC, that due to the need for Vac-braked locomotives this weekend, only 1 Class 37 is available, however a Class 33 locomotive IS now available and so the tour will revert back to 'Plan A' of a Class 37 and Class 33 in Top and Tail formation.
24 AUGUST: We have received the confirmed times for the tour. These are available on the 'Tours' page.
13 AUGUST: We would like to advise all passengers travelling with us to The Buckinghamshire Railway Centre at Quainton Road that the railtour ticket does not include the entrance fee into the centre itself, however the Railway Centre have agreed to lower the normal entrance fee from £5.50 to £2.50. Representatives from the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre will be on the train.
06 AUGUST: After carefully considering the current situation with bookings and the availability of the WCRC diesel fleet, the decision has been taken to alter the booked traction for this tour. The tour will no longer feature a WCRC Class 33, instead 2 WCRC Class 37s in top and tail formation. We fully understand that some people will be unhappy with this decision, but we have taken this move to help ensure this tour runs and that it runs to the advertised itinerary.
24 JULY: Website has had a major update, after customer feedback, we hope you find this site more informative and easier to use.
23 JULY: We have had confirmation from the 71A Locomotive group that they will have a sales stand on the train, and will be holding an on train raffle. We will still be holding our charity raffle in aid of NORSACA as orginally planned. We are still hoping to have a second sales stand, although this is yet to be finalized.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Barry Taylor for his help and support. Barry organized a number of very successful 'Worksop Open Day Committee' railtours.
